The workshop was organized by the Municipalities of Castellanza, Marnate, and Olgiate Olona, the Department of Architecture and Planning at the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy in September 2011. The aim of the workshop was to examine the area and offer new solutions for the urban regeneration of brownfield sites and the reconnection, as part of a proposed supra-unitary system, areas still in operation.

The proposed war museum is extension of a existing bunker from the World War II. It contains two parts connected with a bridge above the street. The main materials of the building are concrete and glass. The concept was developed during the 10 days long workshop.
